Over 10,000 visitors made it to the Seattle Japanese Garden for the 10-day Maple Viewing Festival this year. More and more leaves turned each day of the festival, the reds and gold hue of trees preparing for winter.

Many families participated in the scavenger hunt in the garden. Arts and Crafts activities including miniature zen garden, calligraphy, origami workshop by P.A.P.E.R., and UW Education Outreach’s nature craft were enjoyed by many visitors from around the world. Other weekend activities included a book reading and watercolor demonstration by Sanae Ishida, Taiko performance by UW Taiko Kai and Inochi Taiko, and a Koto performance by Shiho Kurauchi. Tea ceremonies were also held in the Shoseian Tea House surrounded by beautiful shades of all.
