A message from the Garden staff

Since March 2020, the Japanese Garden has modified operations to meet evolving State, County, and City COVID guidelines while providing guests a safe place to find respite, restoration, and renewal amongst the beauty of nature.

We are excited to soon be able to welcome more guests back into the Japanese Garden, and to reduce the safety restrictions put in place to help encourage physical distancing.  We will be re-opening paths, and gradually begin re-introducing in-person events and programming.  This will not, however, occur immediately. As we return to full operation, our goal is to provide the highest quality experience we can and will need to carefully allocate resources to ensure that quality is maintained.

Our goal is to have pathways within the Garden re-opened on Tuesday, July 13, 2021.

Timed ticketing for high-use times (Fridays, weekends, and holidays) will still be available as will walk up sales.

The return of volunteer opportunities is anticipated soon, including in-person tours based on staff, facility readiness, volunteer capacity, and gardener support.  Exact dates will be announced.

Thank you all for your interest, patience, and continued support throughout the past 16 months! We look forward to seeing you soon at the Seattle Japanese Garden.
