Maple Viewing Festival 2017

Anytime is a good time to visit the Seattle Japanese Garden. Although, one not to miss is the magnificent fall color during the annual Maple Viewing Festival. This year, the event starts on Thursday October 5th and lasts for 10 days till Sunday October 15th.

This family-friendly event features nature-inspired craft making, maple tree scavenger hunt, live performances, and other cultural activities during the 10 days.

There will be tea ceremonies begging at 1pm and 2pm on Saturday October 7th, Thursday October 12th, and Saturday October 14th. The Tateuchi Community Room will be open to visitors to see a stunning photography exhibit curated by Vashon Island-based photographer Ray Pfortner. There will be an opportunity to meet some of the photographers on Saturday October 14th at 3pm. The event is free with garden admission. No advance tickets are necessary. Annual passes are accepted at this event. The hours in October are Monday noon – 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday 10am -5pm.
