First Thursday: Sogetsu Ikebana Demonstration by Megumi Schacher

For the Free First Thursday in May, we are excited to welcome Megumi Schacher for an Ikebana demonstration.

Megumi Schacher has practiced Sogetsu ikebana for over 20 years. She is the current deputy director of the Sogetsu Seattle Branch and teaches classes and workshops, gives demonstrations, exhibits in the greater Seattle area, across the U.S., and in Japan.

Megumi has taught ikebana for over 10 years and currently holds classes in her home studio, at Swansons Nursery, and in downtown Seattle. Megumi’s work can be seen at the Seattle Art Museum, the Japanese Consulate, the Northwest Flower and Garden Show and Sakura-con.

Join us on Thursday, May 3, from 5:30 to 6:30 in the Tateuchi Community Room for a close look of her work in action. Admission to the garden is free after 3pm for Free First Thursday. Complimentary refreshments provided. Dementia-friendly watercolor exhibit will be on display.
