Family Saturday September: Respect for Elders Day - Book Reading & Watercolor Demonstration by Sanae Ishida

The Seattle Japanese Garden will celebrate Respect for Elders Day and Family Satuday on the same day in September!

In honor of this Japanese holiday (敬老の日 - Monday, September 16, 2019 in Japan), admission is FREE for all seniors, as well as youth 12 and under, from 10am - 2pm, on Saturday, September 7th.

From 11am-1pm, we welcome back Sanae Ishida for a reading of the newest edition to her Little Kunoichi series Ba-chan the Ninja Grandma a story of Little Kunoichi’s wise, creative, and eccentric grandmother and a hands-on watercolor demonstration.

Free guided tours are available at 11am & 12:30pm.

Tea ceremonies are offered at 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm during the event. The tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for youth. Please visit the gatehouse call at (206) 684-4725 to purchase your tickets.
