Join us for an evening of exploring ikebana flower arrangement with the Ikebana International Seattle Chapter #19 member and the Ohara School instructor, Phyllis Danielson.
Phyllis began demonstrating and teaching Ohara style ikebana throughout the United States since 1976. She has been President of the Portland Ikebana International Chapter and President of the Seattle Ohara Chapter.
The Ohara School, founded in 1912, emphasizes seasonal qualities, natural growth processes and the beauty of natural environments.
This Kaleidoscope Series introduces you to the basic techniques and different arrangement styles of Ohara School. A short lecture and demonstration will be followed by a live Q&A with Phyllis.
Kaleidoscope is a series of free virtual events designed to engage with a virtual audience and offer educational content on Japanese gardens and Japanese culture during the Covid-19 pandemic, when access to the physical garden is limited and our usual calendar of interactive cultural events has been cancelled.
Registration is required for this event. Space is limited.
We are proud to offer the Kaleidoscope virtual event series with support from The Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership.
