First Viewing begins with the dramatic flair of a Shinto blessing at 10:30 a.m. A Shinto blessing is a formal ceremony that's been conducted in Japan since ancient times. The blessing will usher in auspicious ki –life energy– for a successful new year and will be conducted by Reverend Koichi Barrish of Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America in Granite Falls, WA.
*Advance tickets are required for the Shinto Blessing ceremony. General admission is included in the advance tickets to the Shinto ceremony. Members will have an early access to the ticket sale. Please look for email with a passcode.
The 45-minute complimentary tours of the Garden are available with general admission at 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. These tours deepen the experience of strolling the garden by sharing insights on the garden’s history, design and spiritual principles. Please meet in front of the ticket booth.
