Have you ever watched the intricate process of textiles being woven up close? Join us for the September Family Saturday when textile artist Satoko Pettersson will be demonstrating this fascinating art form in the Tateuchi Community Room from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Through her advanced training in Sweden at the HV School in Stockholm Sweden, Satoko learned that that weaving requires careful planning, care, attention and good skill in every step in the process. She believes in creating works with quality and enduring value, items of value that can outlast its original purpose. Her work is often inspired by patterns in kimono she finds beautiful.
* Free admission to all youth 12 and younger and seniors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Family Saturday and Respect for Elders Day.
There will be a limited quantity of hands-on activity. Come early to reserve your space!
