9/14 -- September Family Saturday | Respect for Elders Day by Unit86

Unit 86, our beloved guide group, will present the Family Saturday: Respect for Elders Day program. Unit 86 is planning many fun activities for families to enjoy. Bring your entire family and have a wonderful day celebrating our elders.

Respect for our elders day is a traditional public holiday in Japan that is celebrated in mid-September. This day focuses on families and appreciation for our elders.

On this day, from 11:00am to 2:00pm, the Japanese Garden Guides (Unit 86) will provide a special welcome and greeting at the entrance from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

There will be family activities in the community room. This will include reading of traditional Japanese Folk Stories (Monomato the Peach Boy, The Old Man who Made Trees Blossom, and The Sticky Sticky Pine.) These will each be about ten to fifteen minutes.
