What you need to know before coming to the Moon Viewing event
What you can bring to the Moon Viewing:
You can bring a blanket and/or mat to sit on in the meadow (grass) area. Although the performers will be wandering around during this year’s Moon Viewing, you can certainly stay in the meadow area to enjoy the evening.
What to expect at the Moon Viewing:
The Haiku station will be open from the start at the east gate. Please visit to pick up a card and write one or two poems of your own in the evening.
Please submit your Haiku for the Haiku contest.
The luminary lighting will start around sunset (7:30pm).
Shakuhachi players will perform from 6:30 until 7:30 pm.
Dancers will perform until 8:00 pm.
The music soundscape will begin after the Shakuhachi performance at 7:30pm.
The luminary lighting will start diminishing from the North end around 9:00pm.
The Garden will be closed at 9:30pm.
What not to do at the Garden:
Water can be brought in.
No outside food is allowed. We will have a snack stand where you can purchase food.
What not to wear at the Garden:
Please refrain from wearing open-toed shoes. This event will be held outdoors in the evening and through the night.
Garbage Policy:
We will not be setting up garbage bins in the Garden. Please take any garbage with you.
In case of Rain:
This event will be held rain or shine! However, in the case of event cancellation due to dangerous weather, tickets can be refunded upon request or donated to the Garden.
