SOLD OUT Tsukimi Cha-kai: Tea Ceremony

Japanese tea ceremony is an experience imbued with calm, precision, and refined beauty. Seattle Japanese Garden's Shoseian is one of the only tea houses in North America where guests can receive tea in a traditional roji garden setting.

Join us for a special 40-minute tea presentation, "Introduction to Chanoyu", as part of the Moon Viewing Festival. Shoseian Teahouse will be adorned with bamboo decorated with intricate origami creations and tanzaku, written wishes. You'll have a chance to sit in a tatami-mat lined tea room, observe the restrained ritual movements of tea preparation, and taste the carefully prepared tea as well as an accompanying sweet treat.

This Urasenke-ryu event will be hosted by Tankokai

Reservations will be accepted when Moon Viewing ticket sales begin on August 1 and are sold only with Moon Viewing tickets. These tickets sell out fast every year. To receive a notification when the ticket sales are about to begin, sign up for our newsletter here.
